Hi! I’m Linda

I'm a working mom who never thought she'd send her children to boarding school.

But here I am—three kids later, all of whom have applied to and attended (are attending!) elite prep schools. What started as a daunting, emotional decision became one of the most transformative journeys for our family.

As a full-time professional (and mom supporting test prep and application essays between meetings and Zoom calls), I know how overwhelming it can feel to consider this path. The application timelines, the testing, the essays, the parent interviews—not to mention the emotional rollercoaster of letting go.

That’s why I created Boarding School Mom—a space for parents like you who are curious, maybe a little anxious, and looking for honest guidance from someone who's been there.

Here, I’ll be sharing:

  • What I wish I’d known before this whole journey began

  • Real talk about the emotional side of sending your child away at 13 or 14

  • Dorm packing lists, interview tips, and parent statement reflections

  • And how boarding school shaped not just my kids—but me, too

Whether you’re deep into SSAT prep or just exploring if this path is right for your child, I hope this space helps you feel a little more prepared—and a little less alone.

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
